Felix has specialized in food from Cuba and Spain since the 1970’s and serves it up in a sidewalk cafe atmosphere. The Old Towne Walking Food Tour was delighted this weekend with a sampling of empanadas, coconut shrimp and signature paella. We were hosted by the owner who explained how his uncle came to the USA from Cuba, via New Orleans, then to Felix Cafe; and how in the process coconut shrimp was born! They are so good you could eat them all day. No kidding!
Felix Cafe also scored in the top 2 “Best Hole in the Wall” in the Orange County Register’s The Best of Orange County (although the sidewalk setting surrounding the Orange Plaza, with a view of the fountain and ambiance and charm of Old Towne Orange hardly makes it a Hole in the Wall. It’s more like the lively, engergetic and engaging place with terribly yummy food those of us who live in Orange have come to expect. You’ll be pleased to visit and make many happy returns.
